Life Groups and Spiritual Growth

One thing that all of us have in common is that we are on a journey – an adventure of life – and we’re not meant to journey alone. At Yorkminster Park we welcome you to journey with us.

Our Life Groups are opportunities for us to do life together, to share in the struggles and victories, the sorrows and the joys. So whether it’s enjoying the renaissance of colouring, a Sunday lunch and walk, liturgical dancing, knitting and crocheting for a cause, or prayer and Bible study, there is a place where you can belong. Check out the opportunities below. If you have any questions feel free to email Dale.

Myosotis (means forget-me-not) Singing Group

1st Saturday of the month, 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Belmont House

Do you love to sing praises? Then this is the group for you! With a mission and objective to relay God's heart to people, and to connect communities and families, we gather once a month to sing praises at Belmont House. Every first Saturday we meet from 5-7 pm. We start with our fellowship and prayers to align our hearts and voices. Then we move to the floor where our senior community resides, to host a praise worship with residents, staff and families. Our members have Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in music but we also have some who can't read music; we only want your commitment to keep singing praises. We sing thirteen times a year (twice in December as we sing on Christmas day too). Annually, we gather together for a day of spiritual retreat to reflect, reboot and renew. To improve our singing, we meet 4 times a year for music boot camp with food, fun and fellowship. Join us to sing praises to the Lord together.

Hosts: Mary & Nikhil

Parent Group

Sundays 10:00 - 10:45 am, Youth Room

Are you frazzled from trying to hold everything together whilst making lunches, helping with homework, attending everything, and pleasing everyone?! is there any time or energy left to tend to your soul? Your relationships? Well we don't want to add anything more to your "To Do" or "To Go" list, but if you would like to spend a few minutes on a Sunday morning with other parents in the same boat, leaning, praying, and commiserating together, we meet from 10:00 - 10:45 in the Youth Zone (room 510).

Childcare is NOT provided. If your child is between the ages of 4 and 12 they are welcome to attend the Chorister's choir practice running simultaneously. If they are under 4 feel free to bring them along to play quietly while we meet.

If you'd like to more about this group or have any suggestions please email Dale.

New To Yorkminster Park

At Yorkminster Park we want every person who walks through the doors to feel at home and to know that you are welcome here.

We recognize that you may have some questions about faith in God, baptism, membership, who we are as a church, why we're here, and why we do the things we do. So every few months we offer a series of informal gatherings to explain ourselves and to answer any questions you may have.

The topics include:
Christian Faith, what is a Baptist, who is Yorkminster Park, Christian Spirituality, Baptism and Lord's Supper (Eucharist)

If you're interested in becoming a member you may join Yorkminster Park Baptist Church one of three ways:

1. By Baptism
When anyone is baptized at Yorkminster Park they are baptized into the family of Christ and into the membership of the church.

2. By Letter of Transfer from another church.

3. On the basis of Christian experience
Members of other Christian traditions can come into membership based on their confirmation or profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

Feel free to email Dale with any questions you may have about the class or to let us know you're interested.
