YPBC offers many opportunities to express Christ’s love through word and action. As a volunteer with ministries and programs connected with our church, you may serve seniors, homeless people, refugees, and hungry families. You can be a part of a Baptist family that extends across our city and around the world.
In the past two years, we have sent members of our congregation on short-term missions to
Kenya, the Middle East, and Brazil. Our next team will go to Moldova in 2007.
Reflections on Mission
Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”

Certainly, love is expressed first in ‘being with’, before ‘doing for’ someone. We have to continually renew our awareness of this because we can get caught up in a lot of doing for.”
— Mother Teresa
The happiest among you will be those who serve others.”
— Albert Schweitzer
A religion true to its nature must be concerned about man’s social conditions. Religion deals with both earth and heaven, both time and eternity. Religion operates not only on the vertical plane but also on the horizontal. It seeks not only to integrate men with God, but to integrate men with men and each man with himself.”
