Pastoral Care at Yorkminster Park

We live in a world where people are becoming more isolated and disengaged from life. Much of this is due to the fear and uncertainty of our generation. Every day we must battle the temptation of indifference and turning a blind eye to the overwhelming needs all around us. Yet I still believe that God calls us to care for people and to make connections of love, grace and compassion. This is one of the great ministries of the church, to which all of us are called.

In the gospels, Jesus was always giving of himself to others. He was the ultimate example of self-sacrifice and service, giving us that wonderful pastoral image of the shepherd caring for the sheep. The video is only a small window into the many ministries of Yorkminster Park that your gifts support. Your gifts are an investment in people - people whose lives are touched by the pastoral work we do together. You can make a difference by offering your gift on-line, or during our regular Sunday worship services.

It is my prayer that you will be encouraged as you seek to take the love of Jesus into all the places where God has called you to live. In the words of the apostle Paul: "If there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind." (Philippians 2:1-2)
