A Thanksgiving Message from Peter Holmes

In a world where bad news seems to grab all the headlines we too easily forget that we are a Good News people. We have so much to be thankful for as we enter into this Thanksgiving weekend. There is our health and strength, the beauty of nature, the inspiration of the arts, the warmth of family and friends and above all the love of God in Jesus Christ.

Coming up out of the subway last night in a hurry to get home I had an unexpected flashback that stopped me in my tracks and soon had my soul singing. I was overwhelmed by a sense of God's guiding hand. You can read more about it on my blog. I hope Thanksgiving weekend stops us all in our tracks at some point and fills our hearts with wonder and joy.

I don't know which direction your tracks will be taking you this Thanksgiving weekend, but if you are in the city, I hope you will join us for Thanksgiving Worship at 11 a.m. If you are not in the city, I invite you to worship with us online. (There will be no 7 p.m. service this Sunday).

Since the earliest times Thanksgiving has always involved the offering of a gift. Your gifts to God and the church are changing lives. If you are with us I invite you to bring your gift on Sunday, but if not, you can offer your Thanksgiving gift online.

The video above illustrates one of the many ways your gifts are making a difference through the church. Thank you for your kind and generous support.
