As a congregation we will be moving through this reflective and sobering time in our yearly rhythm, focusing our hearts, minds, and spirits on the Cross of Jesus Christ and the Resurrection. You're invited to participate in one of the many Group studies offered at different times and places throughout the Lenten season.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Adam Hamilton is the senior pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. Rev. Hamilton has received numerous awards, including two honorary doctorates, the B'nai B'rith award in Social Ethics, the Denman Award in Evangelism, and the Circuit Rider Award for excellence in church leadership. He was named one of the "Ten People to Watch in America's Spiritual Landscape" by Religion & Ethics Newsweekly and Distinguished Evangelist of the United Methodist Church by the Foundation for Evangelism. He is a Trustee at Saint Paul School of Theology and as a member of the Kansas East Board of Professional Ministry. He lectures on leadership, evangelism, and preaching across the country.

In life and in death, Jesus' words were powerful and meaningful. Despite the serious effort and increased pain required for Jesus to speak as he hung on the cross, Jesus spoke seven "final words"-statements that have much to teach us about Jesus, his Father, and ourselves.
