Children’s Ministry Director
Miriam came to Yorkminster Park in June of 2008. Miriam has had experience working with Children’s Ministries in a variety of places and capacities. Some of these include leading nutrition clinics for moms and their preschool children in the slums of Port au Prince Haiti (1984-1989), serving as Children’s Pastor at Spring Garden Baptist Church in Toronto (1994-2005) and administrating a children’s and youth grief recovery project in Sri Lanka, following the Tsunami (2006).
Miriam is married to Ken and has four children and four grandchildren. Together Ken and Miriam have served in compassionate and church ministries for most of their married life having lived in Canada, Thailand, Haiti and Sri Lanka.
Miriam is passionate about the significant place that children hold in God’s kingdom and has seen from experience that they can contribute their gifts to the life of the church.
