Beacon

Why Beacon?

Beacons help guide navigators to their destinations. We call ourselves Beacon because we believe our group exists to be a light to help guide others on their journey as we journey to know Jesus.

“Energize” 11:15 a.m. – Every 4th Sunday Youth Zone @ YPBC (Rm. 310)

Doxa Youth Worship – Starting January 2010 We believe that worshipping God is critical in the formation of faith and therefore believe that youth need to worship God in their own way. The Energize service will be consist of live worship music and interactive messages using multimedia and pop culture. The Energize service will launch on January 24, 2010. We are very excited about this service and all are invited!

“Pwn Your Faith” 10 a.m. – Every Sunday Youth Zone @ YPBC (Rm. 310)

Small Group Bible Study for Jr. High & Sr. High – The term “Pwn” is a slang derived from the word “own.” we believe that in order to become a disciple of Jesus Christ, you need to work at it and make your faith yours. You need to take ownership of your pwn faith (see what I did there?).

This year, we will follow a curriculum written by a group of youth pastors (including me). The curriculum is called “I dare you...” and is based on the idea of cultivating an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

Mentorship Program – 8 week Program

I Believe

You meet eight times with an adult mentor to figure out exactly what you believe. If you want to take your faith to the next level, this program is for you! Please speak with Sam for more info.

Good Times – Please refer to the calendar for our events schedule.

Parents’ Corner – We believe that parents play a vital role in the lives of their youth and more specifically in the area of spiritual growth. Experts say that one can tell the level of the youth’s spirituality by examining the level of the parent’s spirituality. We want to help and guide you in this challenging of endeavor of raising your children in the fear of the Lord.

We have a blog set up for our youth group that consists of newsletters for parents, an event calendar, permission forms and other pertinent information. http://beaconministry.blogspot.com/

NOTE: All volunteers with children and youth are screened, trained and required to observe the standards of our Child Safety Policy.
