Holy Week and Easter Services

Palm Sunday, April 10th

11:00 a.m. Morning Worship 
This service will include a children's procession of palms, music by the Doxa Band and the hymns of Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Sermon: The Rev. Dr. J. Peter Holmes

4:30 p.m. Choral Passiontide Devotion 
The Soloists and Section Leads of Yorkminster Park Baptist Church present a Passiontide Devotion. The music will include the Lent Prose, Faithful Cross and Ave Verum Corpus by Healey Willan, Christus Factus Est by Guiseppe Pitoni, Stabat Mater by Welford Russell, O Saviour of the world by John Goss and the Adoramus Te by Ludovico Viadana. William Maddox will direct the Choir and offer organ selections by J. S. Bach and Josef Rheinberger.

2022 Holy Week Services, April 11th - 15th

Crossings: Ecumenical Holy Week Meditations
Online devotional services will be presented by the clergy of the five Churches on-the-Hill participating in the Crossings Exhibits. The brief services will consist of a reflection, and prayer focussing on the scripture related to the station. The devotionals will be posted on the church websites and emailed out to the congregation each day.

• Monday: Timothy Eaton Memorial Church
• Tuesday: Christ Church Deer Park
• Wednesday: Calvin Presbyterian/Deer Park United
• Thursday: Yorkminster Park Baptist Church
• Saturday: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish

Maundy Thursday, April 14th - 7 p.m.
Service will include Foot Washing, Communion and Tenebrae Music proved by Iona Passage
Rev. Dr. J. Peter Holmes and Rev. Paula Willis will present short homilies.

Good Friday, April 15th - 11:00 a.m.
Service following the stations of the cross with scripture, poetry and music provided by the Choir.

Churches on-The-Hill Ecumenical Good Friday Walk - 12:30 p.m.
This walk stops at three neighbouring churches on route to a concluding service at Timothy Eaton Memorial United Church. A short service including a prayer, reading and hymn will be offered in each church.

Good Friday Concert - 3:00 pm
Music and Readings for a Most Holy Day, presented by the Hedgerow Singers.

Easter Sunday, April 17th

9:30 a.m. - Easter communion
A joyful celebration of the resurrection with Easter readings/prayers and Communion in Meditation Circle

11 a.m. - Easter Worship
Featuring the choir and brass accompaniment to the great hymns of Easter.
Sermon: The Rev. Dr. J. Peter Holmes
