Climate Change at Yorkminster Park

Sunday, January 17 - 11:00 am

YPBC is excited to announce that special guest speaker, Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, will join Rev. Dr. Peter Holmes in a unique dialogue sermon on the theme of the Stewardship of Creation.

We welcome Dr. Hayhoe to our pulpit in the hope of not only coming to terms with the truth, but expecting a Gospel word of hope and grace in the midst.

Time Magazine recently named Katharine Hayhoe one of the one hundred most influential people in the world. The PBS show, Nova, featured Katharine Hayhoe and referred to her as the climate change evangelist.

Don Cheadle, actor and correspondent for Showtime's, Years of Living Dangerously, said, "I've never heard of anyone like Katharine Hayhoe, an evangelical climate scientist?" He went on to feature her work and her voice prominently in the premier episode of the award winning show.

Katharine Hayhoe's mission as a scientist is to help the faith community come to terms with one of the greatest challenges of our age, climate change.

Please join us Sunday morning for this exciting event!

"As a scientist, I value the observations, data and facts that have been collected in many years of climate science research. As a person of faith, I am motivated by love for others and for this amazing world in which we live."
