Yorkminster Park Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Minister of the Congregation (Minister) to provide spiritual leadership, faithful preaching, and visionary guidance for our church in the heart of midtown Toronto

Rooted in the historic Baptist tradition and shaped by generous engagement with the wider Body of Christ, Yorkminster Park is a Christ-centred congregation called to shine Christ's light in one of the world's most diverse cities.

The Role

The Minister will provide leadership at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church as a member of a collaborative Ministerial Team composed of:

• Minister of Pastoral Care and Discipleship

• Director of Family Ministry

• Director of Mission and Community Engagement

• Director of Music and Church Organist

• Parish Nurse

The Minister is called:

• To preach the gospel of Christ.

• To lead the spiritual growth and expansion of the church.

• To be a leader within the church community and connect, collaborate, partner and serve with clergy from other denominations and faiths.

• To work with Boards of the Church to provide vision for the future and sustainability of the church community at YPBC.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Accreditation in good standing with CBOQ is required. Candidates not currently accredited must be eligible and willing to pursue accreditation and maintain good standing as a condition of continuing in the position.

The preferred candidate will be:

• An ordained minister recognized by a Baptist Convention in fellowship with the Canadian Baptist Ministries

• An ordained minister recognized by a Baptist Convention of another country, whose ordination standards are acceptable to the Credentials Committee of Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec

• An ordained minister within another Christian denomination, whose ordination standards are acceptable to the Credentials Committee of Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec.

The preferred candidate will:

• Hold a Master of Divinity/Theology from a recognized theological institution.

The preferred candidate will also demonstrate:

• Strong, Scripture-based and inspiring preaching

• Proven leadership within a church community

• Experience with team ministry and shared leadership

• Excellent communication skills (in-person and online)

• Pastoral gifts

• Wisdom in conflict management and relationship-building
