ONE by ONE - SUMMER SHOW 2015

An exhibition of forty works of art each on 1 foot x 1 foot canvases created by members and friends of our congregation. Fun and affordable, each artwork will be for sale for $50 with all proceeds going to the Youth Unlimited program Create & Believe.

Create & Believe is one of Youth Unlimited's faith-based programs aimed at empowering young women through artistic expression. Create & Believe meets weekly after school in the Jane & Finch neighbourhood, and has a vision of multiple locations where young women can be mentored into becoming leaders in their communities and beyond.

Reverend Karen Robinson-Joseph began this arts program under the title Sketch & Believe and continues to supervise it as it grows.

Release Your Inner Artist:

Starting Sunday, February 22, pick up a free canvas from the Narthex or Yorkminster Park Centre. One per person. Forty canvases in all. First come, first served. Encourage church friends to explore their inner artist. After February 22, contact the YP Art Committee to arrange to pick up a canvas.

Sun May 24 is the deadline. Submit your artwork to Yorkminster Park Centre during weekday office hours or on Sundays.
Sun June 7: Opening Reception and Sale. All works remain on display until Friday, Aug 14 

Three ways to participate:
• Create an original work of art
• Buy an original work of art
• Donate $50 to Create & Believe

Suggestions for your canvas:
• paint, draw, print
• collage with papers, cloth, found objects
• attach any work on paper: watercolour, drawing, digital art, original photograph
