Margaret Glew

Margaret Glew in conversation with John Gagné

An evening with Margaret Glew in conversation with John Gagné
Wednesday, October 14, 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Join us for an evening with Margaret Glew as she discusses her artistic practice, inspiration and current exhibition, Loose Threads, with John Gagné, owner and director of Gagné Contemporary and Gagné Contemporary Projects.

There will be time to view the exhibition before and after the conversation, and an opportunity to ask questions.

About the exhibition

In Loose Threads, Glew transforms used clothing into hand-stitched, quilted textiles that explore memory, material history and the passage of time. Frayed edges, visible stitching and small windows of intuitive drawing invite us to consider the lives and stories carried in the cloth.

Working primarily in black and white, with accents of red, Glew draws attention to texture and the patient work of stitching - bringing fragments of the past together into something new.
