Summer Family Ministry Interns (2022)

The Student Intern is hired to assist in all parts of Children & Youth Ministries, and other ministries (Administration) as needed over the summer. This person will report to the Director of Family Ministries (Heather Mackey) and Director of Operations.


Work Responsibilities:
The Student Intern will work to fulfill the following roles:

Summer Sunday Ministries
• Lead and support children/youth during Sunday morning program
• Prepare lesson and materials with other team members (Summer and Fall)
• Ensure the safety of children/youth during the Sunday program
• Provide inventory and needs assessment for Family Ministries (Children & Youth) and general supplies
• Purchase supplies as directed by the Director of Family Ministries (DFM)

Tuesday Night Online Ministries (via zoom)
• Assist other leaders with lesson/discussion for Family Ministries
• Assist other leaders with Youth Ministry Night

ONE DAY, ALL DAY, Vacation Bible Camp Day - Aug. 31st 8am-5pm
• Preparation and Development
o Working with Director of Family Ministries and Children's Ministry Associate in preparing set design, crafts, lesson plans and other needs for Camp Day
o Attend Family Ministry planning meetings as they come up

• Other tasks as required including but not exclusively, the organization of supplies for fall Children/Youth Ministries and to help with program planning and other duties as requested, time permitting. Under the direction of DFM, do inventory and needs assessment for Family Ministries and general supplies. Do purchasing for supplies as directed by DFM. Clean and organize classrooms and children's library. Under the direction of the Office Administrator, specific administrative tasks and/or projects will be assigned.

Expectations:
· The Student Intern is expected to display the highest Christian values and morals at all times and is to provide a good example to children/youth
· The Student Intern is expected to arrive on time and to keep track of the hours spent on the provided time sheet.
· The Student Intern will meet bi-weekly for consultations with the Family Ministry Director and/or Office Administrator
· Working location will be at Yorkminster Park Baptist or their home to support online ministries

Terms: $16.00/hr. - 35 hours a week to be determined jointly by the Intern and the church; plus 4% vacation pay less mandatory employer-related costs; payable bi-weekly, 
Must be between 16-30 yrs of age
Start date: June 27, 2022;
End date: September 2, 2022
