Surfaces

Robin Laws Field presents Surfaces: a collection of mixed media art quilts. Artworks are based on the artist's own photographs of intriguing surfaces ranging from ancient pavements to rustic fences. Paint, dye, coloured pencil, oil stick, clay, ink, building material, yarn and bead are all present within a variety of techniques. It is the use of a threaded needle that is common to all Laws Field's artworks. In interpreting her photographs of the commonplace, the artist hopes to convince us that art is always just a glance away.

The Gallery will be "resting" between December 22 and early January, when we will then install Esther Lovrics‟ and Joan Burdette Ness‟ botanical art presentation.
