Yorkminster Park Gallery

John Bennett

From WWII to Today

In keeping with Remembrance services, Yorkminster Park Gallery is honoured to host a restrospective exhibition of works by John Bennett, WWII veteran, artist, career art teacher and retired Director of Art Education for the Toronto District School Board. From 1943-45, while serving as an infantry camouflage officer, Bennett painted in Normany, Belgium, Holland and Great Britain. Seventy-eight of those watercolours are in the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The Yorkminster Park Gallery exhibition spans the war years, the middle years, and Bennett's current creations from the Art Therapy Studio of Sunnybrook Veterans Residence.
