THROUGH MY STUDY WINDOW

The view from my study window
has me in awe this week.
It must have been on a day like this
the poet put her pen to paper
to mark the holy ground.
“Earth’s crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God,
But only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round and pluck blackberries.”
Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806 – 1861)
